Second Servings of Houston Distributing 30,000th Meal To A Family In Need

Since the pandemic began, Second Servings of Houston has rescued over 400,000 pounds of food (triple the usual amount), valued at more than $2.6 million. They have distributed 27,000 “Dinner’s On Us” chef-prepared meals, as part of their on-going program and added 20 new food donors to their network. The organization has received in-kind donations from ARTIC Coolers, LAM Parking, ACME Party & Tent Rental Center, PREFCO Distribution, King & Spalding, BHW Capital, Mucasey & Associates Architects.

Tomorrow morning (May 7) they will provide their 30,000th "Dinner's On Us" meal to a Houstonian in need! The "Dinner's On Us" distribution begins at 10AM and each family-sized dinner box was freshly prepared and frozen by Hess Corporation’s Food Services team.

The dinner boxes will distributed in a contact-free drive-thru procedure by Second Servings’ volunteers at the LAM parking lot located downtown at 702 Avenida De Las Americas. Each dinner box is hearty comfort food, and provides 8 meals. Anyone is welcome to receive a "Dinner's On Us" meal, the only requirement is everyone must be in a vehicle. (We encourage car pooling!) Distribution is from 10AM-noon.
